Kidnap attempt: 11 youths arrested

Eleven youths attempting to kidnap a girl aged 16 were arrested by Hatton Police yesterday, Acting Police Spokesman SP Sajith Medawatta said. Police personnel at a roadblock on the Hatton-Colombo Road had stopped a van when they saw a girl engaged in a fight with several youths inside the vehicle, he said.
