Re-valuation of A-Level results :

About 2,725 receive changed grades

Grades of 2,725 candidates out of the 148,168 who applied for re-valuation of Advanced Level answer scripts have changed. The revision percentage is 1.84, Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena said.

The minister addressing the media on Wednesday at the Education Ministry said there is nothing wrong with the issued result of the Advanced Level examination 2011. But in accordance with the Supreme Court decision, the Z-score had to be re-calculated by using a new formula issued with the court decision.

Examination Commissioner General NMJ Pushpakumara said the revised Z-score marks were issued within two weeks after the Examination Department received the request from the University Grants Commission.

He said the University Grants Commission has to request the Examination Department to calculate the Z-score marks. The formula required to calculate the Z-score is also provided by the UGC.
