Thurstan beat DSSC

Thurstan College Colombo beat D. S. Senanayake College by a wicket at the Inter Schools under -15 Division two tournament match ended at D. S. Senanayake College Grounds recently.

DSS chose to bat first and scored 196 runs in 49.2 overs. S. Mohamed hit a fine half century (52 not out) while D. Bandara (38) and Pasindu Kulatillake (23) also helped the side. Madushan Karawita was the important among the wrecker with three wickets for 45.

In reply, the Thurstanites reached the target losing nine wickets in 49.3 overs.

Randula Perera made a fine knock of 48 runs. Nivantha Lingthotaarachchi also contributed with 45 runs. Viran Jayathilake scored another 25 runs.

Pasindu Jayathilake was the main wrecker with four wickets for 10 including a hat -trick.

DSS: 196 all out in 49.2 overs (S. Mohamed 52 n.o., D. Bandara 38, Pasindu Kulatillake 23, Madushan Karawita three for 45, Emasha Kumararatne two for 14, Vihanga Ginuwage two for 30)

Thurstan: 197 for 9 in 49.3 overs( Nivantha Lingthotaarachchi 45, Randula Perera 48, Chamod Palliyaguru 20, Viran Jayathillake 25, Pasindu Kulatillake four for 10)
