Ports Authority win Namal Rajapaksa Challenge Trophy

The winners of the Namal Rajapaksa Challenge Trophy, Ports Authority team with the chief guests and their trophies.

Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) team clinched the inaugural Namal Rajapaksa Challenge Trophy T20 quadrangular cricket championship beating Salt Corporation team in the final which worked off at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium recently. SLPA organized the tournament.

The two-day tournament saw four elite teams represented Nationalized Services Cricket Association last year taking part including People's Bank and Petroleum Corporation teams.

Taking the first lease in the final Salt Corporation team put up a 134 total in their 20 overs and Ports team reached the target by scoring 137 runs in 19.2 overs, sacrificing five wickets.

Ports team had the merit of winning three special awards while Salt Corporation won one. Lasantha Dias of Ports Authority was adjudged the Man of the Match while Man of the Series and Best Bowler of the Series awards went into Port Authority's Shehan Aravinda de Silva and Romesh Nalaka respectively.

A. Nanayakkara of Salt Corporation was picked as the Best Batsman of the Series.

Ports Authority Chairman Priyath Bandu Wickrama, Salt Corporation Chairman Pradeep Wijesiriwardane and Ports officials were present at the award ceremony.
