Cambrians beat Thurstanites

Prince of Wales College beat Thurstan College, Colombo by 88 runs in their inter-school Under 17 division one cricket tournament match conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and played at Moratuwa.

Winning the toss and elected to bat Cambrians scored 227 for 9 in their allotted fifty overs with Satchith Pushpakumara and Suchira Fernando scoring 71 and 41 runs respectively.

Thurstanites in their turn were dismissed for 137 runs with Thinira Jayasinghe making the top score with an unbeaten 51 runs and for the homesters Thilan Nimesh took 5 for 29.

PWC - 227/9 in 50 overs – Satchith Pushpakumara 71, Suchira Fernando 41, Kusal Mendis 23, Dulaj Shanuka 21, Hasitha Lanka 21, Gayan Chamara 25, Avishka Kulasekera 3/40.

Thurstan - 137 in 39 overs – Thinira Jayasinghe 51 n/o, Sahan Dassanayake 32, Avishka Peiris 20, Thilan Nimesh 5/29, Satchith Pushpakumara 3/11.
