RI, fine for murder

A suspect who had allegedly killed his mother by attacking her with an iron bar was sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment by Polonnaruwa magistrate Lalith Ekanayaka on Tuesday.

The suspect was also fined Rs 10,000. The murder took place in March 2007 in Polonnaruwa, Diyabeduma, Koduruwawa area.
