Man dies of suffocation

A resident of Thalamporuwa in the Hungama Police Division, died as a result of an 18 foot high plantain tree falling on him.

Giving evidence at the post mortem conducted by Dr D K R Somasiri, a son of the deceased Wanniarachchige Jayantha, said that the deceased Wanniarachchige Andrayas was his father. He had been lying under a plantain tree around 8.30 in the morning.

"I along with my wife, rushed him to the Hakuruwela hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Inquirer into Sudden Deaths Angunakolapalessa, returned a virdict of death due to suffocation.
