Exemption from visa

An agreement on the exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official/service passports between the government of Sri Lanka and the government of Chile was signed on June 26 at the Ministry of External Affairs.

Secretary/External Affairs. K. Amunugama, and Ambassador of Chile for Sri Lanka Christian Barros, resident in New Delhi, signed the agreement on behalf of the two countries.

Controller General, Immigration and Emigration W.A.C. Perera, Additional Secretary (Political Affairs/West, UN & MA and Conferences)Ms. Kshenuka Senewiratne, and Honorary Consul of Chile in Sri Lanka Mano Selvanathan, were present at the signing.

Under the agreement, holders of valid diplomatic and official/service passports of the two countries can enter the territory of the other and stay for a period not exceeding ninety days (90) without a prior visa.
