Techno 2012 in october

The country’s premier technology focused exhibition Techno 2012
organised by the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka will be held on
October 12,13 and 14 at the BMICH in Colombo for the 27th consecutive
year.

The National Engineering and
Technology Exhibition Techno 2012 will be held in October in
Colombo. The Institute of Engineers will organize this event
and the Platinum sponsor of the exhibition Colombo Dockyard
presented the cheque for the successful conduct of the

This is a good opportunity to showcase new products and ideas while
maintaining and developing the related industry. The exhibitors will
showcase latest products in the fields of civil, mechanical and
electronic engineering concentrating on modern trends, Institute of
Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) President Dr. Ananda Ranasinghe said.
The Techno 2012 will be a platform to showcase new products and
services while education the public regarding innovation that leads to
improve productivity and living standards, he said at the Tech 2012
launch held in Colombo on Tuesday.
The exhibition is expected to transfer technology towards scientific
and technological excellence of the profession and the related
industries in the country.
A platform to showcase and promote brand names, products and
services, the Techno 2012 has added features for harnessing
stakeholders’ talents and skills towards providing the best window of
opportunity for the new as well as seasoned entrepreneurs and
organizations under one roof. The Techno is a diversified, informative,
state-of-the-art and educative nature exhibition with stalls exceeding
200.It has won appreciations and accolades from the engineering
community and also earned national and global recognition and the
reputation to be branded as one of the best of its kind in the SAARC
region.
The visitors to exhibition has grown over the years mainly due to
many special features been gradually added to the exhibition. The
depiction and display of ongoing and proposed mega infrastructural and
other development projects envisaged by the “Mahinda Chinthana Forward
Vision” programme inclusive of the North and the East development, Metro
Colombo development projects will find their places for enlightening the
visitors about the unprecedented development work the country is
witnessing at present.
The Tech 2012 will provide opportunities for practicing engineers to
display and describe their special projects to the public by allocating
space for their panels. It would endeavor to strengthen the links
between the suppliers of engineering products and services and the
relevant government institutions with a view to facilitating mutual
awareness of their resources and potential in fulfilling their needs,
objectives and aspirations.
