Clarification
Reference our page I report of June 16th titled ‘Diyawadana Nilame
awarded Rs. 250 million as compensation in defamation case’,the amount
mentioned as compensation is incorrect. It should have read, the Colombo
District Judge Dhammika Ganepola yesterday awarded Rs. 50 million as
compensation in the defamation case filed by Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga
Dela Bandara. We deeply regret the error and apologize to the judge and
parties concerned for any pain of mind caused them.
