Woman dies after son's alleged lamp attack

A mother who sustained injuries when her son allegedly threw a burning kerosene lamp at her, succumbed to her injuries on admission to the Kurunegala General Hospital.

The deceased was identified as W A Githona of Alawwa.

Alawwa Police arrested the son. He was produced before the Polgahawela magistrate and remanded.

Investigations are continuing.
