The third and final day of the 50th
Poson Mihinthale Aloka Pooja organised by Associated
Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd (ANCL) ended yesterday. The 50th
Aloka Pooja was organised under the guidance of Ven.
Walahahengunawewe Dhammaratana Nayake Thera and on the
direction of ANCL Chairman and Managing Director Bandula
Padmakumara. M/S Abans Ltd sponsored the Aloka Pooja for the
seventh consecutive year at a cost of Rs 2.5 million. Here,

Chief Incumbent Walawahengunawewa Dhammarathana Nayaka Thera,

Kuwaiti Justice Minister Jamal al
Ahmad Shihab called on his Sri Lankan counterpart at the
Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kuwait City yesterday. The ministers
discussed matters pertaining to the justice sector and
agreed to conclude negotiations on three bilateral judicial
cooperation agreements. Minister Hakeem invited his
counterpart to visit Sri Lanka and sign the agreements.
Minister Hakeem thanked the Kuwait government for the
support extended to Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan ambassador in
