Hirunika has committed Contempt of Court - President's counsel

Attorney at Law Hemantha Warnakulasuriya PC watching the interests of Duminda Silva MP filed an application that the deceased's daughter Hirunika Premachandra had allegedly committed Contempt of Court accompanied with a request to take measures to safeguard the honour of the judiciary when the Bharatha Lakhsman murder case was taken up before Additional Magistrate Prassanna Alwis yesterday.

Duminda Silva is undergoing treatment abroad for gunshot injuries on his head. In support of the application, documents including newspaper clippings and CDs were handed over to the court by the counsel requesting the items to be submitted to the Attorney General.

Earlier, the CID informed that the investigations had been concluded. The 16 suspects were re-remanded and further hearings were postponed for June 19.
