Nearly 3.950 Poson dansalas throughout the country came under the
scrutiny of the Public Health Inspectors countrywide up to noon on Poson
Poya Day and 16 of them were found to be unhygienic.
People in charge of the dansalas were warned to improve the standard
of the food served and they took immediate steps to fall in line, Sri
Lanka Association of Public Health Inspectors president Upul Rohana
said.
Meanwhile, another 1,434 temporary shops selling food and drinks near
venues of various Poson festivals were also inspected and 14 were
detected selling unhygienic food items.
Steps have been taken to institute legal action against the owners of
these shops, he said. |
