Cavalry Supercross on Sunday

The third round of the CEAT-SLARDAR (Sri Lanka Association of Racing
Drivers and Riders) championship will be worked off in Pangolla,
Kurunegala when the Cavalry Supercross will be held at the Super Cross
Track of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corp Training Centre on Sunday, June 03.
Over 72 drivers and 92 riders, including the former Asian motorcross
champion Thomoya Suzuki and, Harith Noah and the Indian champion CS
Santhosh who recently gave up racing, will make a comeback at the
Pangolla track, providing maximum entertainment for spectators. They
will be confronted by the Lankan superstars Gayan Sandaruwan, Shehan C
Adhikari and Ken Wedisinghe.
In the other events on two wheels, Sampath Kumara and Lahiru
Jeewantha will be in action in the Street trail while young Jacques
Gunawardena will be looking to maintain his unbeaten streak this season
in the under 16 events.
Udesh Wedisinghe, SLARDAR champion Udika Srimal, Suraj Perera and
Ramal Pathiratne will entertain crowds in the 250cc and 450 cc super
motard events.
On four wheelers, Dinesh Deheragoda will be looking to challenge
Pasindu Peiris once again in the supercar event (SLGT upto 3500cc).
Veteran drivers Upulwan Serasinghe, W.M.K. Wickramasinghe, Aravinda
Premadasa, Ashan de Silva and Dinesh Jayawardena will be the other names
to be reckoned with.
The improved track at the Pangolla circuit will include three
table-top jumps and four single jumps for the 14 motorbike races which
are scheduled to take place in the event. According to the SLARDAR
President Mahesh Gammanpila, the Army engineers have worked hard,
assisting the SLARDAR track experts under the guidance of Centre
Commandant Col. Indunil Silva, Haren Yatawaka and Gayan Sandaruwan to
prepare a brilliant track.
