Nichula - the Most Valuable Player

Nichula Liyanage a 15 year student of St Peter's College, Colombo was adjudged the most valuable player of the under 17 Colombo South Zonal Basketball Tournament which was held at the Royal College Basketball Courts recently.

St Peter's was unbeaten throughout the series and won all the matches they played.

The first match of the tournament was played against Royal College, Colombo. St Peter's scored 56, Nichula scored 14 points. Second match was against St Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia St Peter's won by 17 points, Nichula scored 28 points. The fourth match was Vs Mahanama College. Colombo. St Peter's won by 28 Points (scores 57-25) while Nichula Liyanage scored 26 points.

In the final played against Royal College, St Peter's scored 62, Royal were 53, Nichula scored 36 Points and Nichula Liyanage became the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
