Children’s park opening to coincide with Lake House Mihinthale Aloka

Providing a fully equipped children’s park (sellam midula) for
Pathiraja Thennakoon Primary School in Mihinthale, to mark the 50th
anniversary of Lake House Mihinthale Aloka Pooja, is another social
service performed by Lake House, Mihintale Raja Maha Viharadhipathi Ven
Walahahengunawewe Dhammaratana Nayake Thera, said.
The opening of the children’s park will take place along with the
commencement of the Mihinthale Aloka Pooja on June 3 at 10.30 am. M/s
Abans Ltd. will sponsor the Mihintale Aloka Pooja 2012 for the seventh
consecutive year at a cost of Rs 2.5 million.
The children’s park was a request of Pathiraja Thennkoon Primary
school,Mihinthale Principal RWM Mallika Menike and Mihinthale Divisional
Secretariat Ruwan Ekanayake.The donation was organized under the
guidance of Mihintale Raja Maha Viharadhipathi Ven Walahahengunawewe
Dhammaratana Nayake Thera.
“The Aloka Pooja programme started as a small programme with limited
funds in 1963. It gradually blossomed into a grand religious and social
festival. In particular, it has helped achieve a great degree of
economic and social development, Mihintale Raja Maha Viharadhipathi Ven.

Wijewardene will also be one of the distinguished guests.
The first day of the Mihinthale Aloka Pooja will be opened by the
North Central Province Governor Karunarathna Diwlgane, North Central
Province Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake, Youth Affairs and
Skills Development Deputy Minister and Mihinthale Electorate UPFP Chief
Organizer Duminda Dissanayake, Lake House Chairman Bandula Padmakumara,
Ceylon Electricity Board Chairman Wimala Dharma Abewicrema and Abans
General Manager Dhammika Prasanna. |
