Italian delicacies |
Italian Cuisine is a mosaic of regional customs with recipes often
being passed through the generations. Italian Chef d'Imperio joins us
from Naples to present this highly famed and deeply loved cuisine in all
its finest flavour. Chef d'imperio's cooking roots stem from his Italian
mother. Currently serving as a senior lecturer at the Universitą dei
Sapori, in Perugia, Chef d'Imperio was inspired by the kitchen and
trained at the finest hospitality institute in Roccaraso, Aquila.
Like all renowned Chefs, Domenico believes there is nothing better
than traditional home style cooking. He believes cuisine culture is
passion for rare ingredients, authentic tools for preparation and care
in selection of the seasonal vegetables and meats.
Italians select ingredients very carefully, choosing only the best.
That is why Italian cuisine is unanimously considered one of the finest
of the world.
The very best of Italian food lies in deep attention to detail
yielded together by the skillful chef.
D'Imperio |
Join Chef Domenico d'Imperio at Latitude and delight in Insalata Di
Pollo - a popular Italian chicken salad or Insalata Con Olive E Feta -
olive and feta salad. The main course would include such items as the
mushy, melt in the mouth flavours of Risotto Funghi E Broccoli - Italian
style creamy rice with broccoli and mushroom or authentic Alla Bolognese
- pasta with bolognaise sauce. For Sri Lankans, no Italian cuisine seems
closer to our fond liking than pizza - Pizza 4 Stagioni or Pizza Al
Tonno - tuna pizza amongst many more.
Tiramisu and other delights wait to sum up the meal.
Music of Italy...
The music of Italy ranges across a broad spectrum of opera and
instrumental classical music and a body of popular music. Music has
traditionally been, and still is one of the cultural markers of Italian
national and ethnic identity and holds an important position in society.
Italy hosts some of the most ancient and prestigious music Academies
of the world which created worldwide famous conductors such as Claudio
Abbado and Riccardo Muti and still train fine musicians and promising
composers.
The Embassy of the Republic of Italy in association with Taj Samudra,
proudly brings to Sri Lanka two of these extremely talented and gifted
Italian Musicians.
"Armonie - an evening on Italian music" will feature Massimo Spada on
Piano and Claudio Cavallaro on Clarinet who are coming from the
prestigious and world renowned Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
The concert, upon invitation only, will be held at the Crystal Lower
Floor, Taj Samudra tonight 7.30pm onwards. |
