Brand new A320 joins national carrier fleet
SriLankan Airlines acquired a new Airbus A320 last month, expanding
its fleet to 23 aircraft. The national carriers fleet now consists of
eight medium - range A320s, seven twin-engined wide-body A330s, and six
long-haul A 340s, and two De Havilland Twin Otter float-planes for
domestic services. The new aircraft has a seating configuration of 20
Business Class seats and 120 Economy Class seats, and is equipped with
sophisticated Inflight Entertainment systems and in-seat AVOD (audio,
video on demand) in Business Class and Economy Class, as well as 25
movies, nine TV channels, 25 audio channels and 15 games.
SriLankan is also in the process of completing a major refurbishment
programme by the end of this year, transforming the passenger cabins on
its existing long-haul fleet of A330s and A340s with flat-bed seats,
state of the art audio video on demand (AVOD) entertainment systems and
luxurious interiors.
The national carrier currently serves 60 destinations in 33
countries. |
