Mihin Lanka, the country’s budget carrier was named the best budget
carrier servicing Bangladesh by the Monitor magazine.

Bangladesh.
Commenting on the award, Mihin Lanka CEO Kapila Chandrasena told
Daily News Business that the assessment by the Monitor magazine for
Mihin Lanka as the best low cost carrier servicing Bangladesh is a clear
indication of the appreciation on differentiation strategy adopted.
“We are been rewarded specifically for the differentiation offered at
our direct link between Dhaka and Sir Lanka compared to other low cost
carriers. This prestige has been won by Air Asia and Air Arabia too in
the past. Winning it gives Mihin Lanka the competitive edge in the low
cost carrier industry,” he said.
The criteria looked in to the assessment process is the attitude and
service level of in-flight crew and how service centric they are.
“We do offer free meal service and 25 kg of luggage facility which is
appreciated by the Bangladesh passengers who patronize our service. We
are happy to receive this award and committed to maintain the service
level with necessary upgrades,” he said. "We are looking at increasing
the number of flights to Bangladesh operated by Mihin between Colombo
and other destinations under the code sharing agreement with SirLankan
Airlines," he said. |
