Lankan youngsters win Coca Cola Trophy
Sri Lanka Under 17 team emerged champions at the Coca Cola Trophy in
Mysore, India when they beat Coca Cola XI in their third match by seven
wickets to clinch the series 2-1.

The match was played at Mysore University Platinum Jubilee Cricket
stadium.
Sri Lanka under 17 won the toss elected to field. Coca Cola XI scored
240 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. Indian batsmen Safraz Khan, Nitin
Tanwar and Akshey Brahmawat all scored over fourty runs each. Lakshan
Jayasinghe took two wickets for 33.
A valuable 174-run partnership for the second wicket between Cambrian
Kusal Mendis (116) and Hashan Dumindu of Gurukula Vidyalaya, Kelaniya
(68) which came in 196 deliveries, turned the game for Lankans.
Man of the match, opening right hand batsman Kusal Mendis scored his
116 run knock in 122 deliveries with 15 boundaries. Right hander Hashan
Dumindu scored 68 runs inclusive of 9 boundaries.
An unbeaten 52 run partnership for the fourth wicket between Adeesha
Thialnchana and Kavindu Kulasekara helped them to reach the target in
the 46th over.
