Anniversary celebrations

Rilpola Dharmaraja Maha Vidyalaya, Badulla has organized a Pirith chanting ceremony followed by a Dana Pinkama under the auspicies of Principal D.M.S.P.Dayananda to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year.

Rilpola Dharmaraja Maha Vidyalaya, Badulla is one of the most famous national schools in the Hali-ela Division, Badulla Educational Zone.

The religious activities are to begin at 7 am and will be followed by the anniversary celebration ceremony at the school premises.

Yam cultivation promoted

The Hadabima Authority of Sri Lanka has embarked on a project to promote the cultivation of yams in 250 acres of land in the Devinuwara and Dikwella divisional secretariat areas on the instructions of Agriculture Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.

The project will be implemented on a grama niladhari division basis, Hadabima Authority chairman Lalith Nanayakkara said.
