Young athletes set up 28 NMRs
W D M M S Dissanayake of Sri Lanka Army won the
Dialog Challenge Trophy for the best athlete in the boys under 23
category while airwoman W P E R Dulakshi was adjudged the best girl
athlete in the same age category in the 55th Junior National
Athletic Championship concluded at the Mahinda Rahapaksa
International Sports Complex, Diyagama,yesterday.

63 points to 11 in their Inter-school Under-20 Division One Group

Fans clash as Galatasaray lift Turkish title
Galatasaray lifted the Turkish title for the
18th time on Saturday after a goalless draw saw them deny rivals
Fenerbahce, but crowd trouble marred the occasion as tensions
escalated amid an enquiry into alleged match-fixing. Flag-waving

Kingswood in the process of team building
Kingswood College which is the first school in
Sri Lanka to play rugby is in the process of team building as the
nucleus from last year's side will not do service for them. Thus
their coach Priyantha Gunaratne will have a tough job on his hands.
This situation stems from the fact that last season they were
largely dependent on a few players who performed very well but their
absence this season has created a big void in the team.
