Donation to mark Excise Dept's centenary

The staff of the Excise Department's Head office and the Colombo District Assistant Excise Commissioners Office, jointly organized a 'Dana' and donation of equipment to the Victoria Home for Incurables in Rajagiriya as part of the Department's programme to mark its centenary.

Excise officers on the occasion donated itemssuch as television sets, mattresses, pillows, mosquito nets and cooking utensils among other items. Prior to this the officers offered 'Dana' to nearly 200 patients housed at the institution.

'Dana' Excise officers of Kesbewa, Kotte, Colombo and Padukka organized a 'Shramadana' to clean up the location. The events were organized under the purview of Western Province Assistant Excise Commissioner A.Pushpakumara Silva. Excise Commissioner General Wasantha Hapuarachchi and Deputy Minister Geethanjana Gunewardene too attended.
