Under the correct and impartial leadership of President Mahinda
Rajapaksa the government defeated terrorism and protected the human and
physical resources of the country, with the invaluable contribution of
the war heroes", Uva Province Governor Nanda Mathew said.
He was speaking at a war heroes' commemoration celebration at the
newly erected war heroes' memorial at the Race Course, Badulla.
Governor, Mathew said," President Mahinda Rajapaksa has a realistic
understanding about the invaluable and noble service of war heroes and
launched a number of welfare activities for war heroes and their
families.
"Today we unveiled the newly constructed war heroes' statue in
Badulla to honour and pay gratitute to the war heroes of Uva who
sacrificed their lives to protect the country and the people. I praise
Chief Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa for granting more than Rs five
million from the Uva PC fund". |
