Beach polluters beware

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Board will come down hard on beach polluters with even court action contemplated against the offenders. Tourism Development Board research has revealed that most people consume alcohol on beaches and leave empty bottles and cellophane bags behind.

The research has revealed that beach pollution has been increasing, specially in Unawatuna, Pasikudah, Negombo, Galle, Matara and Hambantota.

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Board has informed Economic Development Ministry officials about this issue. The minister, following this, has instructed to arrest those responsible for polluting the beaches.
