Kanchana Jayaratna at the helm

Kanchana Jayaratna was elected President of the Sri Lanka National Volleyball Federation for disabled at it's Annual General Meeting held recently at the Sri Lanka Army Lecture Hall at Malay street Colombo.

Jayaratna, an old boy of Joseph Vas College Wennappuwa is presently serving as the Vice President of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation the post he held for last three years. He was a senior member of the school Volleyball team who has excelled in inter school, district and National levels.

A supervising member for Education, Sports and Youth Affairs of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council he is also the President of Ratnapura District and Eheliyagoda Volleyball Associations.

He is a leading figure in the Ratnapura District in promoting the National sport and lifting it to higher levels.

Kanchana Jayaratna is also a leading figure in the Provincial political aren and he was able to secure highest number of votes from Ratnapura District in the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council elections.
