Emerging stickers from Kegalle

Kegalle an emerging hockey team is on the way to success with their young and talented players. Started in 1999, they have come a long a way.

This time they were able to secure the third place at the 55th Senior National Hockey Championship beating Colombo Hockey Team 3 -2 .And this is the first time that a hockey team from Kegalle won the bronze medals in the Senior National Hockey Championship.

The Kegalle team is captained by Ajith Dissanayake who represents Sri Lanka Army and he is the coach of the side too. With his superb captaincy the team performs well.

In 2007, the team won third place at the Sabaragamuwa Province Hockey Championship and 2008 they were runners-up in the same championship.

Though there is no sponsor for them , they have made progress. The outstanding players are K.H.A.A. Dissanayake and Kasun Herath who played for CH & FC and National Hockey Pool.

Now, their main aim is to perform well at the hockey nationals this year and win the trophy.
