Jana Sevana loans reimbursement 100 pc

The percentage of reimbursement targets of Jana Sevana housing loans has exceeded 100 percent in 13 districts, said Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Ministry sources.

"Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa directed the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) to carry out reimbursements efficiently after looking into the problems of housing loan beneficiaries and provide relief to them. Thus, the NHDA has achieved this target successfully. A special reimbursement programme is being conducted through the NHDA district offices under the guidance of the minister," sources said.

The percentage of reimbursements in 13 districts which are Colombo, Kalutara, Matara, Kegalle, Nuwara Eliya, Badulla, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi has exceeded 100 percent. Among them the Colombo North office has obtained 230 percent of the reimbursement target. "With this achievement, the NHDA has the opportunity to provide more loans for people," sources said.
