Dharmapala College emerges champion

HARFA a rugby institution formed by former Havelocks Sports Club and Sri Lanka Rugby legend Hisham Abdeen held its Rugby Extravaganza successfully at the CH & FC Grounds recently for the third successive year. The tournament featured approximately 500 up and coming rugby players from 37 schools and academies from junior age groups from the Island.

The up and coming Dharmapala College Pannipitiya staged a stupendous performance who beat the experienced Harfa Academy by 13 points to 7.

Results: The cup winners under 10 Trinity Under -12 Trinity, Under – 14 Trinity, Under – 16 St Peter's College and under – 18 Dharmapala College Pannipitiya.

The Fazal Burah trophy for the most promising player was awarded to K Senura Premawardane of St Peter's College. The Ladies tournament was won by Sri Lanka Army ‘B’ who beat the Southern Ratgama RFC 20 points to nil.
