Tremors felt in most parts of Lanka
A tsunami warning was issued yesterday by the
Disaster Management Center for coastal areas in Sri Lanka as an
earthquake of the magnitude of 8.6 on the Richter scale struck the
west coast of Northern Sumatra around 2.08pm local time. Tremors
were felt in several parts of the island including Dondra point,
Colombo, Jaffna and Trincomalee.

Man suspected of stealing tea plucker’s Rs 150,000 chain nabbed
A man who is suspected of snatching a gold chain
worth Rs 150,000 from a tea plucker, was arrested by Bulathsinhala
Police last week. The Police also found a knife and a packet of
drugs in the suspect's possession.The Police nabbed the suspect when
they stopped the motorcycle he was riding on suspicion.
