MBA 'A' victorious

Maliban Biscuit Manufacturers (Pvt) Ltd 'A' beat Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd 'B' in the final of the Mercantile Softball Double Wicket Cricket Tournament for the first time. The tournament was held at Shalika grounds and was conducted by the Mercantile Softball Cricket Association.

Maliban Biscuits carried away the MSCA challenge trophy.

A total of 32 mercantile firms participated in the tournament. In the quarter finals NTB 'B' beat Douglas and Sons, Mobitel 'B' beat Heritance Ahungalla, Maliban Biscuits 'A' beat N.T.B. 'A' and Heritance Ahungalla beat Mobitel 'A'. In the semi-finals, Mobitel 'B' beat N.T.B. 'B' and Maliban Biscuit 'A' beat Heritance, Ahungalla.

Tharindu Siriwardana of Maliban Biscuits was the man of the series, the award for the best batsman waswon by Saman Dimuthu of Mobitel and the Best Bowler was y T.P.G. Dilan of Maliban Biscuits.
