The Special Task Force (STF) arrested a person on Monday for maintaining a holiday resort without a valid permit in a government forest reserve in Maligawila.

STF sources said that the suspect, a resident of Maligawila, had cleared an area in the government reserve forest in Demodara, Maligawila and had constructed the holiday resort. The STF also seized furniture, kitchen ware, generators and landscaping equipment.

The suspect was handed over to Wellawaya Forest Officers for investigaions.
