Sisu SC wins seven-a-side soccer

Sisu Sports Club, Ampitiya, Kandy emerged champions at the annual Seven-a-side Soccer Tournament held at the Edmund Silva Municipal Playgrounds on April 8.

There were 22 teams participated at this tournament and among them were Madyama Lanka, Sisu, Kandy Municipality, York, Golden Stars and Unicorn.

In the final match, Sisu SC beat Golden Stars by 5 penalties to 4. When the match was over both teams had scored 1 goal each and it was decided on penalty kicks.

In the first semi-final, Golden Stars beat Kandy Municipal SC by 2 goals to nil and Sisu SC beat Sri Lanka Army Singha Regiment Team by 1 goal to nil.

Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake was the chief guest and the guest of honour was Suminda Wickramasinghe, a Former Deputy Mayor of Kandy and presently a council member of the Kandy Municipal Council.
