Ranjit de Silva in International Commission

The Badminton World Federation has established a permanent Commission of international experts to carry out research and development into the science of the sport of badminton including the areas of sports medicine and sports engineering.

This panel will form the link between badminton research and coach education. It will initiate, encourage and monitor research in badminton worldwide. The members of the Commission are: Dr David Cabello – Spain (Physiology), Professor Adrian Lees – England (Biomechanics), Professor Ranjit de Silva – Sri Lanka (Materials Engineering), Dr Mike Hughes – Wales (Performance Analysis), Dr Greg Kim – USA (Psychology), Dr Hanno Felder – Germany (Physiology, Biomechanics), Dr Martin Fahlstrom – Sweden (Medical Science).

Professor Ranjit de Silva, a former Sri Lanka national champion and a Gold medallist at the World Masters Games, was recognized for his contribution to the development of junior badminton in Africa and became the only Sri Lankan to be featured in the 75-Year History of World Badminton publication.
