Sanjika guides St Servatius to victory

Sanjika Ridma scored the first century in the annual limited over
series between St Servatius College and St Thomas'College Matara to
guide St. Servatius to a 34 run victory. Sanjika's 103 came in 136
deliveries with eight boundaries. It should be noted that this left hand
batsman scored an unbeaten century on debut in the 110th battle of
Nilwala in 2010.
Opting to bat first St Servatius scored 224 for the loss of eight
wickets. Yohan Chanuka 45 and Sanjika put on 96 runs for the first
wicket. Ishan Abeysekera took 4 for 44 in his 10 overs. The Thomians
were in a strong position with four down for 105 in the 22nd over thanks
to 54 runs from 63 deliveries (five fours and a six) by Lasith Lakshan
and 36 runs by Nevindu Udesh (seven fours) who put on 69 runs in 67
balls for the second wicket. Skipper Ashan Ranasingha scored 57 but four
unnecessary run outs saw the Thomians all out for 190 in 45.2 overs.
