Chamod shines in Gurukula win

Gurukula Vidyalaya, Kelaniya completed a good double when they beat their arch rivals Dharmaloka College by nine wickets in their 21st inter-school annual limited over cricket match worked off at Keththarama Stadium, Colombo.

Now the tally stands at Gurukula nine, Dharmaloka 11 and one no decision.

Taking the first lease Dharmaloka were all out for a paltry 123 runs with Sulaj Gayashan and Janaka Pathum contributing 24 and 23 runs respectively. Nalin Perera was the best of the bowlers for Gurukula with 3 for 31.

In reply, Gurukula were 125 for 1 with Chamod Sulakshana unbeaten on 61 runs with nine fours and one six and carried away the Best Batsman and Man-of-the-Match awards while the Best Fielder and Best Bowler awards were won by Nisula Lakshan and Nalin Perera respectively.

Dharmaloka: 123 in 39.5 overs (Janaka Pathum 23, Sulaj Gayashan 24, Nalin Perera 3/31, Anjana Nimnath 2/6, Hashan Dumindu 2/18).

Gurukula: 125/1 in 26.5 overs (Chamod Sulakshana 61 n.o, Kasun Madusanka 32, Nisula Lakshan 25 n.o).
