Murder suspect nabbed

A man was arrested by the Ingiriya police in connection with a murder of a woman who was shot dead in Palpitigoda last month.

The police found a revolver in the suspect's possession. He was produced before the Horana magistrate yesterday.

Ingiriya police are investigating.

Body found

A body of a woman was found floating in Tissa wewa in Thissamaharama by the Ranminithenna Naval officers on Tuesday. The diseased was five feet two inches in height, well built, fair in complexion and appeared to be around 30-years-old. She had been dressed in trousers and a t-shirt with her hair cut short. The body has been sent to the Debarawewa hospital morgue. Thissamaharama police are investigating.

Treasure hunters nabbed

Four persons were arrested while they were hunting for treasure in Waulgala in Deraniyagala on Monday night. They have been remanded until April 10 after being produced before the Awissawella magistrate.
