Woman nabbed with 1.51kgs of heroin

A woman was nabbed with 1.51kgs of heroin at Mawiththara, Piliyandala by the Police Narcotics Bureau on Sunday.

The Police also took into custody over Rs 1 million from her possession which she is alleged to have earned selling the drugs.

A three wheeler used to transport the drugs was also seized.

The suspect, a resident of Dehiwala, was nabbed during a raid.

Investigations revealed that the woman's husband was in jail for drug related offences.

Meanwhile, two persons were arrested while illegally transporting cattle at Kantalai and Akkaraipattu. The STF in Kantalai and Urasari camps led the raids and rescued the cattle valued at Rs 600,000.
