‘Rs.2,500 enough for bare survival’

Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena said yesterday that what he meant when he said that Rs. 2,500 was enough for a person to survive was that it was sufficient to keep him alive. The Minister said that when a society has a debate on a topic the people of that country would be absorbed in it without being concerned about truths or falsehoods.

He was engaged in a live debate telecast by a private TV channel at 10 pm with UNP Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake.
