Caught while leaving baby girl under shrub

A female worker, attached to the Biyagama Export Processing Zone, was caught red handed by the public, when she tried to leave a newly born, 15 day old baby girl under a shrub by the side of the Colombo-Kandy road in Delgoda, yesterday.

The girl had a love affair with a man.

The man had eloped with another girl, after the baby was born, leaving her in the lurch, the girl said.

However, the family members of the girl had come and taken her and the baby to their native place, Anuradhapura, after people informed them in this regard.
