Trinity College schoolboy Akila Jayasundera cracked a brilliant 131
with 20 fours and 1 six off 130 deliveries to guide United Southern
Sports Club to a first innings win over Matugama Cricket Club in their P
Sara trophy cricket tournament match played at Galle on Sunday.
Chasing Matugama Cricket Club's first innings total of 230 all out,
United Southern SC lost two early wickets before two schoolboys from
Trinity College Heshan Wanniarachchi (32) got together to put on 126 for
the third wicket which put them on the road to recovery and over haul
their opponents total.
Akila Jayasundera contributed more than half the side's total during
his stay at the wicket and did not hesitate to punish anything lose.
