India's largest engineering sourcing show, the Indian Engineering
Sourcing Show (IESS) organized by EEPC India, concluded last Sunday with
over 500 foreign participants from the Asian Continent, Europe and
Africa participating.
Sri Lanka which participated for the first time fielded over 95
participants and they were very happy with the outcome of the event.
The National Chamber of Commence of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) which promoted
this event from Sri Lanka invited the Indian counterparts to visit Sri
Lanka and explore the investment possibilities in the ongoing
infrastructure development projects.
"The Indian engineers were also keen to explore opportunities in the
Mattala Airport Project and the Trincomalee Harbour related development.
“We are also keen to provide our engineering expertise,” an official
from IESS said.
"With investments in the North and the East picking up after the
ending of the war the construction industry too is booming and the
demand for building materials and engineering experts is increasing and
we see great potential in this area,” he added.
