Northern Central Hospital opens in Jaffna

Boosting the healthcare facilities in the Northern Province, the
Northern Central Hospital the 80 bedded multi specialty healthcare
facility was opened in Jaffna on Sunday.
The hospital is a BOI project with substantial investment will
further supplement the North Province healthcare service. It comprises
four floors where two floors are functioning at present, Provincial
Director of Health Services Northern Province Dr. S.R. Jude told Daily
News Business. The entire hospital will be ready by mid April with
modern facilities including 10 bedded ICU, 13 channeling rooms, two each
of operating and labour rooms to provide curative treatment, she said.
The hospital has a well equipped laboratory, x-ray, ECG facility and
ultra sound scanner to offer high service delivery. The standard of the
Northern Central Hospital will be on par with thehospitals in the
Western Province and it will fill a void in the healthcare service
requirement of the North, Jude said. |
