Trinity in record win

It was a Massacre of the innocents as Trinity College crushed St.
Anthony's College, Panadura by the Massive Margin of 306 runs in their
schools Under 19 limited over cricket tournament played at the Asgiriya
Stadium, Kandy yesterday. This Margin of win could be a record in school
cricket in Sri Lanka.
Trinity College electing to bat first made 352 for 6 in 50 overs
averaging at 7 runs per over.
Rajitha Jayatunga top scored with 80 not out made in 73 balls with 5
fours and 3 sixes followed by Heshan Wanniarachchi 79 (6 fours 92
balls). The others getting half centuries were skipper Niroshan
Dickwella 65 (7 fours, 67 balls) and Dinuk Wickremanayake 50 (4 fours 55
balls).
Rajitha Jayatunga and Dinuk Wickremanayake put on 115 runs for the
fifth wicket.
The Panadura Antonians after losing their first 3 wickets for 8 were
45 for 4 at one stage but lost the next 6 wickets for just one run.
Seven batsmen failed to score while the 8th batsman was unbeaten without
scoring.
Leg spinner Akila Jayasundera took 5 for 5. His figures read 3-1-5-5.
In his third over he captured 4 wickets while off spinner Janishka
Premasinghe took 2 for 0.
