Centurian Sasith guides Rajans to victory

A brilliant knock of 101 with 12 fours off 100 balls by junior national poolist Sasith Gunasekera helped Dharmaraja College to score a 111 run win over St. Thomas College, Matale in their schools under-19 Lemonade Trophy limited over knock out cricket tournament match played at Lake View Grounds, Kandy yesterday.

The Rajans made 227 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs. The Thomians in reply were bowled out for 116 in 34.4 overs. Left arm spinner Arvinda Withanarachchi who has captured 97 wickets in two day matches bowled to a good line and length to capture 5 for 29.

Dharmaraja College 227 for 8 wickets in 50 overs (Jayapadma Tennakoon 38, Sasith Gunasekera 101, Ravindu Ratnayake 28, Amoditha Wijewansa 3 for 45, Dilshan Heendeniya 3 for 31, Lahiru Madusanka 2 for 56).

St. Thomas College, Matale 116 all out in 34.1 overs (Shashika Tillakasiri 16, Shehan Wijetunga 20, Arvinda Withanarachchi 5 for 29, Deneth Lanka 3 for 17).
