‘Some Lankans betraying country’
When foreign conspiracies are at work against Sri Lanka, a few Sri
Lankans are working to betray the country, said Prime Minister D M
Jayaratne.

He said so as the chief guest of the entrepreneurs exhibition and
awards ceremony at the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall on
Saturday.
The Prime Minister said that conspiracies at international level are
being carried out in Geneva regarding war crimes and Sri Lanka has
fearlessly faced this crisis.
“The aim of the foreign power blocs is to bring Sri Lanka to
disrepute before the eyes of the international community by propagating
that war crimes were committed in Sri Lanka,” he said.
The Prime Minister said: “I am satisfied that in comparison to other
countries the quality of handicraft products is satisfactory. But
marketing these products in foreign countries is not an easy task. ”
Skilled industrialists and entrepreneurs in the small-scale
industrial sphere were awarded prizes.
M C Malwana from the Nuwara Eliya district won the prize for
agriculture, animal husbandry and for ayurvedic products industry R J R
Prematillaka from the Gampaha district received an award. For products
and additives, W A N D J Wettasinghe from the Ratnapura district; for
trade, G M Priyantha Adikari from Kurunegala; for services sector, S P
Harsha Nishantha from Gampaha and for handicrafts Lekha Roshini Yapa
received prizes.
This function was attended by Youth Affairs and Skills Development
Minister Dullas Alahapperuma and Deputy Minister Duminda Dissanayake. |
