Nearly 600,000 children at Asheervada Poojas

Special Asheervada Poojas was held at 8.30 am yesterday at Early Development Centres islandwide to bless President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa,the Security Forces and the country.

The programme was organised by the Presidential Advisor on Early Childhood Devlopment and Primary Education Ven. Dr. Bandagiriye Somawansa Thera in view of the external threats faced by the country.

The main programme was held at the National Children's Educational Foundation(NCEF) with the participation of students, teachers and parents of the NCEF Model Kindergarten and NCEF Buddhist College. Nearly 600,000 children participated in this programme countrywide.
