Mackwoods Energy focuses on the North

The Mackwoods Energy team

Positioned as a Total Energy Solutions Provider, and presently a leader in thermal power solutions, Mackwoods Energy Ltd has an already established presence in the North, facilitating access to power for the community, through the provision of over 100 generator sets, backed by 24 hour -7 days a week service.

The company, which was active in the North during the conflict period, is today taking further steps to expand and diversify its present operations of providing total energy solutions. With this objective, Mackwoods Energy participated in the recent Jaffna International Trade Fair early this year, aimed at creating awareness of the Company's diverse array of products and services, whilst identifying potential opportunities for expansion into the area of renewable energy.

An encouraging response was received, with high interest in the Company's products and services, which will now be followed up by the team. Meanwhile, Mackwoods Energy will soon have a full time presence in the North through the Mackwoods Group office which is planned to be opened shortly. This will enable Mackwoods Energy to actively identify and develop expansion areas particularly in the renewable energy sector in this region. Mackwoods Energy Ltd, a member of the Mackwoods Group with a 170 year old business heritage, is an ISO certified company.

It has over the last decade built up a strong presence throughout the island operating in key sectors of the economy including telecommunications, defense, finance, SME, relief and rehabilitation, manufacturing, plantations, leisure, healthcare, construction and infrastructure as well as operating in international markets.

The company has recently launched a Rs.350 million IPO to consolidate existing operations and strengthen its presence in the renewable energy sector, through expansion, initially, into mini hydro power projects. The IPO opens on March 22 and is for 25 million shares at Rs14 each.
