The National Savings Bank has rendered a yeoman service to all its
depositors. It has expanded the branches to all corners of the island
with unique experience and stability. In accordance with the lofty
Mahinda Chinthana goals, the bank has embarked on an ambitious target
with resilience and growth. It has reached a chequered milestone on its
completion of 40 years since its inception on March 16, 1972, the Chilaw
Branch NSB Manager Senerathna Herath said.
He was speaking at a meeting coinciding with the 40th celebrations of
the NSB held at the Branch office, Chilaw on Friday, March 16. The NSB
has grown from strength to strength surpassing other banks.
The bank has a rich tradition of savings banking. It advocated a more
efficient and customer-oriented service for deposits and withdrawals.
The Post Office Savings Banking is affiliated with the NSB which
operates through the network of national post offices, he pointed out.
Herath said that under the flagship of the NSB, it did not take long
to instil the savings habit in the public. It surged forward and
out-reached to people of all walks of life and transformed it into a
vibrant household name as a partner in savings. |
